 About  

I’m Dr Joanna Fortune (MICP; MIFPP; Reg Pract APPI; Ap Sup ICP)I specialise in child and adolescent psychotherapy and am passionate about helping young people thrive. I’m also the author of four best-selling books: 15-Minute Parenting (for 0–7 years, 8–12 years, and Teenage years) and Why We Play.

As a Doctoral graduate with Middlesex University, I bring both academic insight and practical expertise to my work. I’m an experienced trainer, supervisor, and recognised speaker, frequently contributing to media discussions on parenting and child development.

I host the 15-Minute Parenting podcast, serve as the weekly parenting consultant on Newstalk FM in Ireland, and write a parenting column for the Irish Examiner.

I’m also a certified Theraplay Practitioner, trainer, and supervisor, proudly serving as the Country Lead for Theraplay in Ireland. Early intervention is at the heart of my work, and I love working with children and teens, believing that small changes can create big differences in their lives.

My approach centres on the philosophy of “less tears and more laughter,” encouraging playfulness as a state of mind and a way of life. Let’s all embrace the joy of a more playful way of being!
